Sustained under pressure

Reading in a pamphlet by Nancy Leigh Demoss this morning, I read a quote pertinent to today's challenges:

"Anything that makes us need God is a blessing."

Das ist windig!

Tried sailing on the Hudson River yesterday. It was quite windy and there were white caps forming on the water. The wind was whipping so much that I was afraid to leave the dock. God must have thought the same thing. We lost our gas cap to the bottom of the river. There was no leaving the port. *sigh*
Though we didn't sail, we saw some beautiful foliage and mountains...and even the replica of the Half Moon (Henry Hudson's boat). Here's a picture for your enjoyment!

Sunny days are here again

Can't seem to shake it from my mind. The idea that there's something more to live for...


Got a few new students recently, German is going well and I'm coming up on a three day weekend going to visit my grandparents and congregate with family.

Vermontrosebud is not only a singer, but also active in humane society for over-sized animals. ;-) This guy was well over my weight, but the picture doesn't do it justice.

Remembering World War II

September 1st, today, was a memorial held on the Baltic peninsula remembering those who lost their lives in the war against Nazi Germany. Though I work two jobs today, I managed to salute and remember the Poles who I've come to know and dearly love thanks to singing abroad and working at Camp-of-the-Woods. I made pierogies. :-)

There's no place like home...

This past weekend I had to opportunity to visit my native home land- Vermont. V to the izza. Lauren came with me and we all enjoyed the sights of a pristine Mountain Top Lake (AKA: Chittenden Dam). Whatever name you ascribe it, the beauty of the place remains constant. God's majesty was present in those Green mountains. That weekend, the Blondies truly did have more fun. The Face of Christ

Do you ever wonder how people come up with the idea of the face of Jesus Christ?

Some artists labor over His skin, eye and hair color.


High school art class: the project I took upon myself was creating "Come Unto Me"... A frontal view of Jesus with His hand reaching forward drawing you in.

From my own experience, artists portray more than Christ's skin, eye and hair color. It's when I paint or draw the figure that brings to my mind FORGIVENESS, LOVE, RIGHTEOUSNESS, PERFECTION... that I desire to portray the feeling people have had once they are forgiven, loved, set free and healed by Jesus. I can't ever walk with Jesus like the disciples in scripture did on the dusty roads. Nor can I look upon Him as they did. But in a way, I walk with Him now and everyday. The face of Christ I see in scripture- I see the work of His forgiveness, love, righteousness and perfection. I desire to portray a face of Christ that when people look upon it, they see His characteristics.
