First Snow- October 28th????

Yesterday was our first snowfall of the year. We had flakes the size of QUARTERS! Here are a few pictures:

First- Our back yard. Better yet, the snow subduing our backyard.
Second-
Me in the kitchen trying to wait out the power outage, but to no avail.

I can't complain. The Lord provided a night's stay at a local hotel. I got FOUR pillows on my bed. Including the one I brought
(I don't trust icky hotel pillows), I had FIVE!! Needless to say, the five and a half hours of sleep I got were cozy ones. Praise God! When He answers prayer, sometimes He does it ABUNDANTLY!

Live out loud.

My tip for the week is a serious one: Live like a Christian and live it loud. Don't be apologetic.

At work I have the ability to voice my beliefs to an extent. In doing so, I have not only been blessed by finding other Christians, but I've also been influential on the lives of others who, whether they know it or not, are not so confident about what they believe.
I believe in Jesus, the Christ, the Son of God who is both 100% God and 100% man. He died to pay the consequences of sin, of MY sin. He didn't stay dead but came alive being a testimony to His followers of the truthfulness of His words and works. He ascended to be with His Father in Heaven and will return to earth again one day. I await His return with joy, knowing that whether I live til then or die before, I will live eternally with God in heaven. I cannot live without hope. Therefore, I live like a Christian, being vocal because I can and not being apologetic because I can't.

Paul wrote:
"Yes, and I will rejoice, for I know that this will turn out for my deliverance through your prayers and the provision of the Spirit of Jesus Christ, according to my earnest expectation and hope, that I will not be put to shame in anything, but that with all boldness, Christ will even now, as always, be exalted in my body, whether by life of by death." Philippians 1:19-20
"...holding fast the word of life, so that in the day of Christ I will have reason to glory because I did not run in vain or toil in vain." Philippians 2:16

Me in Philly

Little -L-

She's being silly crawling all over!

Fun times!

My cousin's baby- L - is such a ball of joy! She will be three this week. One story I heard while visiting family was about the time she was asked, "what is your favorite song?". Expecting an answer like "twinkle twinkle" or "Mary had a little lamb", the adult was flabbergasted when little - L - said in her sweet voice, "On That Holy Mountain of the Lord".
Her mom sings that to her every night and she knows it so well that she too can sing it. It's amazing how well she staying on pitch!

Walk for Life NE Philly!

Doesn't look like NE philly because we were in Pennypack Park. Too bad we weren't more visibly making a statement.

First Lasagna

I made lasagna for some friends the other night. It was a hit! Woot woot give it up for mom who taught me all I know and for dad who taught me not to read directions. I hate recipes.

Ahoy. Land ho!

How appropriate to spend Columbus Day on the water. Well, sort of. I helped my Papa take down the sail, boom and the what-cha-ma-call-it on the bottom of the boat. We actually remained docked, but we still had fun.

Promotion.

Yesterday I was promoted to the main office. I was congratulated and told that I will start on Monday. The main office is where I always wanted to work. I love the historic town and enjoy the Starbucks near by. :-)
